How's the official Chipotle mouthpiece as a source. That's me. And I can tell you that McDonald's invested in Chipotle in 1998, became the majority investor in 2001, and was fully divested in October 2006. During that time, McD's didn't run Chipotle; we ran very much based on our original vision and philosophy. McDonald's really funded our growth from the time we had about 15 restaurants to about 500. But throughout the relationship, we ran quite autonomously. Hope that helps.

It's an excellent idea... I would volunteer to help, except I have the same lack-of-time-surplus problem you do!

If you ever do move forward with this, let me know ... if nothing else, I might be able to chip in some hosting funds or something.

Wow, I've been mentioned twice in a day. I'm flattered!

No question; Metro riders are pretty bad too! However, given that we pay more to ride Metro than commuters pay to ride any other transit system in the United States, you would think they could afford more durable equipment.

With decades of mass transit experience under our collective national belt, a system like Metro (in our nation's capital, no less) should be able to de much better -- even amid daily traveler abuse.

But the general immaturity and discourteous behavior exhibited by riders is no surprise; people behave with that same immaturity and discourtesy everywhere else too now. The only reason it seems more obvious on a Metro train is because the nature of mass transit forces many of those immature, discourteous people into a small area.
